Mantra is a wonderful and quite peaceful way to achieve a state of meditation and well being.
Using prescribed phrases of Sanskrit sounds, known as mantra’s and repeating them over and over can bring a sense of peace to the whole body.
Generally it works best if you are able to do the Mantra consistently every day. This allows for your body to recognise that this is the time to let go and allow the sounds to reverberate through the whole of your body and energy field, allowing blockages and negative thoughts to be dissolved and released. Your mind has something to focus on and so is able to rest in the arms of the Mantra.
Over time it can have a profound effect on your general well being and health. As you are more relaxed, more connected to spirit, and holding less tension and stress.
I have included more detailed information here in these slides for you to have a look at.
Some of the most well known Mantra’s are:
Om or Aum – which is thought to be the sound of creation.
Om Namah Shivaya – Shiva Mantra
Om Mani Padme Hum – Guan Yin Mantra
Om Shanti – Peace Mantra
I have included a whole energy field cleanse in the Chakra Balancing Chant (Mantra).
If you are new to mantra, it would be appropriate to begin with 5 mins per day and slowly build up to doing around 20 minutes per day.
When you become used to it, it becomes a great joy to do and brings such a sense of quiet restful time.
I highly recommend it.
